11/7, I was recovering from an emergency procedure to correct a bowel obstruction.
This was quite a setback, because I was supposed to start my second round of chemotherapy
on 11/8, but was unable to do so for more than another week.
I still don't know how much of a risk this was, but my oncologist seemed pretty confident that
it would be okay. (What else could he say?)
Regardless, at this point, I have clearly lost a huge amount of weight. When diagnosed in late
August, I was at 170 pounds. At the worst parts of my treatment (a few weeks after these pictures
were taken), I was down about 40 pounds. Quite a transition.
